[edit] Talk Pages TOC

[edit] Renaming the Page

I would suggest moving the page to Creating_A_GameSystem/Character_sheet to keep it a little more in line with the rest of the pages that I have been creating to go along with the game system project.  :-) The move link at the top of the page is the easiest and best way to move it. That way, everything is done pretty much automagically, along with an automatically created redirect.  :-) After that, I can add it to the ToC for the related pages.  :P Emry 08:37, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Major Skills 1% vs 10%

10% looks good at low levels. It may work ok at higher levels as well. Another posability that might scale a little better without being too uber, is to make it 10% of the average. Perhaps we can round it up to the neerest point, so that as long as they have anything invested into that category they will get at least 1 point out of it. In this case it would end up being 1, because the overall average is 4. Just an idea.  :-) Emry 09:11, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

Well, lets do halfsies. I say put it at 5%, it is "harder" to get the number, but it keeps from needing to do an average. And the problem I can see for an average is that for say social skills, there may be a total of 15 or more skills, If you only have three or four points in all of social skills, you aren't getting anything from it because 4/15 is 3ish, and 10% of that is nothing, which is defeating the purpose. It won't really ever get out of hand at higher levels anyway, because yes at some point you will have 20 points added to everything, you base with say swords is 67, that is only 87, and by that time, the PC is level 16 and is sitting just over the 50% success rate.
Ok what I said before is retarded, I guess I was a little past tired. I will look at what we have and what is being looked at, and compare the two. I will put it on the character sheet at a later date.
Now that I look back at the issue a few weeks/months later, it occurs to me that a better option may simply be to find categories for the skills that have a similar number of skills in each. Or we could just make the main score be the average, and leave it at that. A combination of the two would work as well. :) Emry 02:24, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
