Religions of Acrose
From NexusCrossing
The land of Acrose, as dim as it's reality may be, is not without hope, or without their gods. Quite the contrary, there are many deities, that take different levels of interest in their followers and their day to day tasks. This page will provide a brief description of each of the main gods. Dedicated pages will provide more in depth information.
There are many deities on Acrose. In this world where magic is believed nonexistent, people still seek miracles. As such, the church plays a major role in many cities.

The Gods Themselves
Eio (NG)
Eio is the moon goddess. She Is the goddess of the harvest, of fertility, and of marriages she is the sister of Mai. Eio is the primary goddess worshipped in many small towns, and farming communities.
Mai (LG)
Mai is the goddess of health and safe travels. She blesses travelers, and those who accept the laws of hospitality. Many way meets and travelers' shrines are dedicated to bother her and her sister Eio. In many cities, temples are erected dedicated jointly to both Eio and Mai.
Rann (CG)
Rann is the god of music and dance. He is a good natured entity that revels in the joy of those who follow him. He is often worshiped by bards, and the occasional rogues. This god has no favored weapon. He would rather his followers find a peaceful way out, but when combat is required, any tool available is to be used.
Relg (CN)
Relg is the god of rogues. His followers see that there is something noble, even in questionable places. If a secret is hidden, it is meant to be found.
Bren (LN)
Bren is the god of warriors. He encourages strength in his followers, and honor. After all without honor, strength is meaningless. Many of the land's soldiers follow this god.
Dren (LE)
Dren is a god of rogues, assassins and thieves. The laws of his order are strict, and severe, but they only apply when dealing with others of his order. He is the god of hidden secrets, and of the night. When people speak his name, it is generally with fear.
Zarand (CE)
Zarand is the god of chaos and massacre. He is the serpent god of the underworld. Most do not speak his name, for fear of gaining his notice, and those that do, do so with an air of macabre quiet. His order is said to be more far reaching than any can truly believe.
Tanaris(LN)
Tanaris is the god of justice and righteous vengeance. He is the destroyer of all who shun the law. His followers are often body guards, or city guardsmen.
Maerisan (N)
There is also rumor of another god. Maerisan. God of wind, thunder, and the roads. Or so that is what his followers say if questioned directly. Very little is known about this god. His order is the thing of myths. It is said that he accepts all who come, and that his order is more ancient than even that of Eio.
A Note on Alignments
Those who play DnD in any of its incarnations will recognize the alignments listed for the deities. These are simply for easy reference for people who use such systems in their games. I do not use the alignment system to any real degree in my own games.
A Note on the Nature of the Divine
While there are many supernatural beings in the world that the player characters may encounter and be able to take on in combat, gods are not among them. It is possible that the characters may meet a god, but if they do, attacking is the last thing they should likely do.
Gods do not have a character sheet in the same way that a PC does. Gods are not mortal, and are not able to be killed by any means that will likely be at the disposal of a PC. They are all powerful beings with vast power in any situation and absolute dominance in their own particular fields.
