[edit] Heads Up

There are wrinkles in the system, and things are still being added as necessary, but this is what is made so far.

[edit] About

There are no levels, no dice, the only things used are words.

Your character sheet contains three things: Followers, Power, and Bonuses.

Followers are those that worship and pray to you, and come in many forms.
Power is what lets you preform miracles, and do everything else.
Bonuses are little extras that your god gets, they can be obtained many, many ways, and are somewhat random, but, usually, permanent.

[edit] Turns

Turns happen three times a week. Posts should be made and edited by gods for the turn on the given days, preferable no later than early evening of the last day. I will make my reply the night of the last day, or early the following day.

Turn One is Monday/Tuesday
Turn Two is Wednesday/Thursday
Turn Three is Friday/Saturday/Sunday

[edit] Worship

All followers must show they follow a deity through worship. Each deity must choose how they want his or her followers to worship. This can be as simple or complex as wanted. The only requirement is that it must happen at least once per turn(approximately a week in game time). All followers do not have to worship the same way, however, this must be noted how each group worships, and each group must be noted. NON worship creates NO power gain that turn from followers. If only half your followers fulfill your requirements, you get half your power from followers.

Worshiping can cause problems and benefits. A simple worship requirement will make it easy for followers to fulfill, thus making sure you are able to gain power every turn, but that is about it. A more complex worship process may give benefits, such as providing more power, but can cause you to gain nothing if your followers are unable to fulfill the requirements.

Examples: 1) On X-day all followers will gather and worship as a group lead by my priests at sunrise until mid-day. If all followers are unable to be in the same area to worship, a priest will lead the smaller group elsewhere.

2) All followers will set prayer (fifteen minutes) three times daily: once at sunrise, once at mid-day, and once and sunset. Followers do not need to be lead by priests for these daily prayers. Once monthly, on the ides at sunset, all followers will gather at the main temple for a prayer (one hour) lead by the priests.

It is not necessary to add to your posts that your followers worship you, it is understood that they will fulfill this automatically. The only time that it would have to be posted is if the worshiping happens less than once every few turns, such as a yearly thing.

[edit] Followers

Follower Types

Untrained: These are the majority of your people. While they are individually insignificant, in large groups they are strong. They are untrained, but can do simple tasks, and simple-complex tasks if supervised by someone trained.
Trained: Followers that have special training. They are able to complete complex tasks, and supervise those untrained in simple-complex tasks. In groups they are capable of completing extremely complex tasks.
Special: Followers that stick out from the rest. They might be well know, or extremely powerful. Whatever the case, they will always have names (though a name does not make one special) and be someone from which everyone can benefit.
Priests: Those who lead your people in a similar fashion to Catholicism* (the Pope, and Bishops)
Basic: Your priest will start as basic lay leaders of your deist.
Advanced/Special: As your deist grows, you may feel the need to expand your priest's order, priests will change according.
  • I am not trying to impress a religion upon any person reading this, I am using this solely as an example of what I mean by the word "lead."

[edit] Power

Power can be obtained many different ways. The vast majority (99%) will most likely come from your influence. Things such as followers, temples and shrines, towns, monuments, and the like. Power cannot be stored or saved on its own. There must be something to hold it. This can be a number of objects, size does not have an effect to how much power something can store(ie: a pebble vs. a boulder), more so it is the "strength" of the object.

This is a rough estimate of where most power comes.

Followers
Untrained:1 point/100 followers
Trained: 1/40
Special: Case by case, between 1/10 (a special person) to 10/1 (a dragon)
Priests
Basic: Usually 1/1
Advanced/Special: Case by case
Things
temples/shrines: depending on size 1/1 to 100/1 or more
town/city: created or >95% population worships, depending on size 10/1 and up, additional to power gained from followers in town/city
monuments: depending on size, location, and such, 2/1 and up

[edit] What You Can Do

Here is information on those things that your character can do. This list is not comprehensive, and it is probably not set in stone either.

Copy and Pasted from the forum

First, the map is up, again, it is really rough, but will work till I finish the real map.

A "turn" represents about a week, give or take, depending on what is being done. If everyone
just creates things, it might be a few days. If you are having your priests convert, it will
be about a week. For the most part, time isn't an issue for you because you can't die, but for
population control purposes, I will keep track of when things will die for important followers
and the such because that is necessary, but I will let you know in matters of "this will
perish/be created in X turns."

For the power cost question, I will give a few vague examples of what you can do
with a number of points.

1 Point:
Communicate directly with a priest giving a specific short message (2 lines)
Communicate with a small mass of followers (1-10 000) a quip ("Hi, this is god)
Make something that exists excel 25% of its natural life (can work on inanimate)
Reverse somethings natural life 5% (can work on inanimate)

2 Points:
Communicate with <5 priests, giving a message (1-5 lines)
Communicate with a mass of followers (<1 000 000) a short message
Age something 60% of its "life"
Revers 15% of something's "life"
Create basic non life (<500 gold)
Create a single basic life (plants, low intellectual animals)

3 Points:
Communicating just keeps getting bigger and bigger...
Aging affects keep getting bigger and bigger...
Create non life (<5 000)
multiple basic life

4 Points:
Single minor intellegence

10 points:
create single life with human intelligence (Virgin Mary)

50:
above, out of thin air

There are many things that you can do. Mostly trial and error.

[edit] Extra info

There are no visible lights from the night sky, except for a solitary satellite. (moon, roughly the size of ours.) There is also only one sun.

Daily/Natural Rutine:

Your people wake up, eat drink and do basic living work, worship you at some point, then go to sleep. They will do basic things to keep themselves alive, but will do nothing special without instruction of some sort.

Worshiping:

Your priests make sure that everyone prays and pays tribute to you. They do not hold specific rituals or services of any kind. It is more of, "good morning everyone, let us all pray to Joe-Jim-Bob," and "before we all rest for the night, let us give our blessings to Joe-Jim-Bob." If you want specific things to happen for worship, you must instruct your priests to do so. This can be any sort of thing you want: rituals, a "sabeth," pray at specific times, what ever you choose. This will become part of the natural rutine. Having a specific plan of worship will NOT improve the amount of power you recieve from your followers. However, having one might attract/repel followers. Such as if you choose to have daily goat sacrafices, it might repel those that like goats, but attract those who like to kill things.

These three are just to reiterate. The worshiping portion is about to change. If you would like to see what it is changing to, please consult the wiki.

Sight:

You have two types of basic sight. What you see, and what your followers see. You can see the entire world without the affects of non godly power (ie illusions, or someones magical presence.) You see things that are real, whether natural, or godly made. You can also see what your followers see, that you wouldn't (ie illusions, and someone throwing fireballs) only if they can see it. A somewhat good example is a goblin with an illusion spell to make it look big. You see it as a goblin with your "eyes" and as a big goblin through your followers.
You also have the ability to see other things at a price. You can see magical presences and the such using your power. Depending on what you are looking for the more it will take. Finding a faint magical presence will take more than a strong one, unless the strong one is "cloaked."

Your followers come in all shapes and sizes, races, ages, and sexes (well, just twoish), and religions... wait, not the last one. This is to help your reign spread into the world more easily. If you would like to REQUEST to have specific types of followers, you are more than welcome, please note that this is not saying the request will be fulfilled.

Examples: Might Happen: I would like to have not maariets /or/ I would prefer to only have females (amazonian). Probably not: I would like male Humans already in adulthood and female elves that are in the prime for breeding /or/ I want all very young children.

The game is set in early medieval setting. the best engines there are as of now are horses, and wind (windmills and ships) so the concept of an engine as we know of is an exotic, distant thought. The basic thoughts of pulleys and levers has not been fully developed, thus making man powered "engines" unknown.
