Quelami was born to be a blacksmith, according to familly tradition, and showed what seemed a real aptitude in his youth, but which turned out to be simply high levels of intelligence. By the age of 8 playing with scraps of soft metals he had invented a handfull of usefull tools and improvements that his father's customers rushed to buy. Figuring that teh business would stay a familly business his father gave him full credit for his work and his reputation began early. When he began his more formal training he began to expiriment with different alloys, discovering many whose properties were extraordinary and unexpected, until he discovered a book on alchemy and began applying it's principles to metalurgy. When he was old enough to take over the business, but when his father was not yet ready to relinquish it word of his acomplishments reached academic circles and he was invited to study at a formal school, which his father allowed in order to hold on to his business. At school Quelami developed even more quickly, not only mastering teh principles of alchemy but expanding the knowledge of it's principles, eventually becoming a teacher and researcher with a great many formulas, theorums, and principles bearing his name. His studies began to expand into magic, which he could handle on a theoretical basis but lacked the knack to put it into direct application except by the manipulation of materials with magical properties. His younger brother eventually took over the familly bussiness and he continued to delve into a combination of the pragmatic sciences and the esoteria of thaumatology and spectral forces. He used magical principles, and favors owed to him by mages to extend his life many times over. He wrote many treatise on alchemy, metalurgy, and theoretical thaumatology, as well as a few scattered texts on his life philosophy, which he reduced to 7 main points:

1) Seek understanding first, cooperation second, and victory third.
2) there are 4 fundamental ways to amass wealth- hard work, good fortune, deception, and theft. The first is the way of honor, the second is the providence of Gods and spirits. The
third and 4th are despisable. Despite the assumptions of those whose labor is physical toil administration is hard work, most easilly recognized when it is not done, or done poorly.
3) The outcome of work is the multiplication of effort and skill. Niether alone will suffice.
4) things of value without cost- love, passion, and joy, should be shared openly and freely. and frequently, in groups when possible.
5) Pursue truth, live passionately, and with honor, and you will build friendships that are more valuable than money. They should never however be used as a substitute for money.
6) The question which hurts you is the one you didn't ask.
7) If it's a dumb idea but it works it wasn't a dumb idea.

Eventually, while researching categorization of spectral phenominon he realized it would be possible to ascend to a higher form and developed set forthe to research it. At an ancient and abandoned temple in the wilderness Quelami awoke an ancient and forgotten deity, who said unto him "Why have you awakened me, you foolish mortal? Long tehse many centuries have I been without existance and at peace." When Quelami explained what he was researching teh ancient God laughed "This ascention you speak of I once did myself, and foudn myself seeking still more power, until even I could not stomach the lengths I had gone to. Eventually I abandoned my followers until I was forgotten, for when one is ascended, as you put it, it is the belief of mortals which sustains you. Which is why you pose a problem, since you are the one mortal which believes in me now. However, if you cease to be mortal... I shall give you what you seek." And with this Quelami became something more than human.
